Stories that inspire.
Theatre that empowers.
Gunpowder Productions is a Nevada 501(c)(3) using original theater, music, and youth-led storytelling to give voice to young people and underserved communities — and to turn those stories into opportunity that changes lives.
Theater can do more than entertain.
Gunpowder Productions believes theater can help communities tell difficult stories, create meaningful dialogue, develop young people's voices, and bring audiences into direct engagement with the issues affecting their neighbors — from youth opportunity and economic inequality to homelessness, incarceration, and access to the arts.

Young people provide the voice.
Our songwriting-as-literacy program gives students the tools to research, write, and perform original songs and scenes about the issues affecting their lives and communities. Adults provide mentorship and safety. The students provide the story.
Explore the program →"A young person's story can become a song, a song can become theater, and theater can become a catalyst for connection and change."
